Andres & Gloria GarciaMeet the Garcia's! Appointed as mission co-workers in 1987, Andres and Gloria Garcia have served the church in various capacities. After serving in Central America for 16 years, the Garcia's accepted an assignment in the only Spanish speaking country in Africa, Equatorial Guinea. Some of the first Presbyterian missionaries to Africa began their work over 150 years ago in what is today Equatorial Guinea. In this strongly Roman Catholic country, the Reformed Presbyterian Church of Equatorial Guinea (IRPGE), the PC (USA) partner, is a small denomination that seeks to be a strong witness for Christ through a holistic approach to ministry. This includes educational and leadership development, community development, evangelism and new church development. The IRPGE is committed to providing quality education for children and youth. Mission coworkers Andreas and Gloria Garcia write, “Thanks to generous support from PC (U.S.A.) and the Reformed Church of Switzerland a computer lab has been installed at the school.” The Garcia's ask us to join them in this prayer: “That God opens more ways of connecting the IRPGE and the PC (U.S.A.) in order to strengthen our common task in service to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” To read the Garcia's newsletter, please click here. |
