Pastoral Counseling CenterThe Pastoral Counseling Center was founded in 1974 by religious denominational, mental health, medical and legal professionals coming together to meet a need in the Roanoke Valley metro area. For 30 years, the offices have been located at the Second Presbyterian Church on Mountain and Third Street SW in Roanoke.
The mission of the Pastoral Counseling Center is to provide affordable professional pastoral counseling in a competent, compassionate and hopeful environment for those in life’s crises and transitions who are in the religious community and greater community.
Pastoral counseling is rooted in the Judeo-Christian tradition. A pastoral counselor is an ordained clergy or person endorsed by their religious body trained in theology and behavioral sciences and is certified by the American Association of Pastoral Counselors (AAPC).
Pastoral Counseling Center of the Roanoke Valley helps people from all walks of life to reach toward hope, seek a new quality of life and develop stronger relationships and healthier lifestyles while gaining a greater use of one’s values, self-esteem and spiritual well-being. The counselors can help with depression, grief and loss, spiritual concerns, anxiety and panic, aging issues, alcohol and drug recovery, abuse and trauma and in many other areas.
The Pastoral Counseling Center is funded solely by congregations, individuals, groups and foundations. For more information you can visit the web site at www.pccrv.org or call 540-343-5455.
