The Rafiki Foundation

www.rafiki-foundation.org

The Rafiki Foundation, Inc. was founded in 1985 by former missionary and current general director, Rosemary Jensen. It is a Christian organization whose goal is to help orphaned children in Africa become godly contributors to their communities. Seven Rafiki Training Villages are in operation in seven African countries. Three more are planned. These villages provide homes and school for orphaned children from birth to adulthood. The educational opportunities are available to local children as well. The Rafiki Training Villages serve as models for satellite villages that are built by local governments and/or churches. Rafiki overseas staff provide expertise to these villages. Each Rafiki Training Village provides health care for the residents and operates periodic two-week medical clinics for the surrounding community. At one time, First Church contributed to the support of two overseas staff members. Many members of our congregation continue to support this foundation.
