The National Niemann-Pick Disease Foundation (NNPDF) is an international, voluntary, 501C3 nonprofit organization of approximately 200 Niemann-Pick Families, as well as medical, corporate and professional sponsors committed to finding a cure for Niemann-Pick Disease. The annual operating budget is approximately $600,000 for 2008. In excess of 74 cents of every dollar donated to the National Niemann-Pick Disease Foundation is spent on research. The board of directors volunteers their time and often contributes their own travel and fund raising expenses. The support that the NNPDF provides families is a wonderful resource of strength and hope. The family list service provides connection to families who know what it means to have a child with Niemann-Pick Disease. The National Niemann-Pick Coordinator helps families identify resources for respite care, special needs equipment, updates and access to ongoing drug trials, genetic testing, and medical treatment for symptoms and many other hard to find services.
The Hunter’s Hope Memorial golf tournament and auction fundraiser is held each year and all proceeds benefit the National Niemann-Pick Disease Foundation. To support this event or for more information on the fundraiser please visit the special website at www.huntershopememorial.com.
