Lapsley ChapelLapsley Chapel The Lapsley Chapel was constructed in 1965 as part of a major addition to the church facility that was built in 1929. It was dedicated to the memory of Dr. Robert A. Lapsley, Jr. who served First Presbyterian from 1930 to 1951. The chapel seats 150 people comfortably and is used for a variety of worship and teaching experiences. It has become a popular setting for smaller weddings (our wedding guide) and memorial services. The facility has a Schlicker pipe organ obtained from Ferrum College a number of years ago. The stained glass windows feature the seals of other Reformed bodies that have been a part of our history or with which we are in communion. |
